LeDuc Sold Out Sorter vs Push Down & Hide Out of Stock
I'm Tyler, and I make LeDuc Sold Out Sorter. This page compares it with MB Push Down Hide Out of Stock by merchbees, using only what their App Store listing says. Their app does more than mine. Mine keeps sold-out products at the bottom of your collections and can optionally hide them until they're back in stock, for a flat price.

What theirs does that mine doesn't
Their listing describes several things I don't do at all:
- Hiding single sold-out variants. (Mine hides whole sold-out products, right away or after a set number of days.)
- Setting Online Store products to Unlisted, so the product page still works by direct link but the product is off your storefront.
- Redirecting hidden products.
- Pinning products, and tagging sold-out items.
- Yearly billing.
Their Free Plan also covers more collections than mine (100 against 5), as long as your store has 50 products or fewer. If you want sold-out products hidden rather than moved, or you're a small catalog with many collections, their app is the one to look at. I don't plan to pretend otherwise.
When mine is the better fit
- You mainly want sorting. Sold-out products (inventory tracked, no variant available) move to the bottom of manually sorted collections within seconds of selling out, and every collection is re-checked every 30 minutes as a safety net. Products set to continue selling when out of stock stay where they are.
- You want restocked products back in their spot. A restocked product returns to the position it had before, not the end of the list.
- You have a lot of products. My limit is by collection, not product count. Pro is $4.99/month for all your collections, whether you have 600 products or 20,000.
- You want per-collection control. Turn sorting on or off for each collection, or for all of them at once. Pick an in-stock order per collection: keep my order, best selling, newest, oldest, price low to high, price high to low, or title A–Z. Sold-out products always stay last.
- You have pre-orders. Products with tags you choose are never moved. The defaults are
pre-orderandpreorder. - You don't want theme changes. There's no theme code and no storefront script. It works by reordering the collection in Shopify, so it works with any theme.
- You'd like a longer trial. Pro has a 14-day free trial, billed through Shopify.
How to switch
- Write down which of your collections their app sorts, so you know what to turn on in mine.
- If their app hid any products or variants, unhide them in their app before you uninstall it. Otherwise they may stay hidden after it's gone.
- Turn their app off, or uninstall it. Don't run both: two sorters will fight over the order of the same collection.
- Install LeDuc Sold Out Sorter. Collections that are already manually sorted are sorted right away.
- For collections sorted automatically (best selling, newest and so on), click Switch to manual and sort. The current order is kept, and the in-stock order follows the sort it had.
- Set each collection's in-stock order in the "In-stock order" column.
- Under "Never move products tagged", add any tags you want left alone.
