How much does it cost?
$3.99 per fax, for up to 25 pages including the cover page. That is the whole price: no subscription, no account, no trial that turns into a weekly charge. You pay once, by card through Stripe, and the fax is sent.
Where can I send a fax?
To any fax number in the United States (the 50 states and DC) and Canada, including toll-free fax numbers. Premium-rate numbers (900 and 976), service numbers like 411 and numbers outside the US and Canada are refused.
What if the fax does not go through?
Busy lines and no-answers are tried again automatically, up to 3 attempts over about 15 minutes. If the fax still cannot be delivered, or the number is not a fax line, the payment is refunded in full automatically. The refund shows on your card in 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
How do I know it arrived?
The status on this page changes from queued to sending to delivered as it happens. Once the receiving fax machine has accepted every page, you can download a delivery confirmation PDF with the date, time, number and page count.
Which files can I send?
PDFs, and photos or scans as JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, TIFF or BMP. On a phone you can take pictures of the pages right from the page. Several files are combined into one fax in the order you add them. Password-protected PDFs need the password removed first.
What happens to my documents?
They are sent over an encrypted connection to my server, kept there only to send the fax, and deleted 7 days after it is sent (so you can still download the confirmation with a picture of the first page). Unpaid faxes are deleted after 2 days. I do not read or share them.
Is it HIPAA compliant?
No. This service is not HIPAA-certified and I do not sign business associate agreements. A patient can use it to send their own forms, but clinics, insurers and other covered entities should not use it to send patient records.
Can I receive faxes?
No, this only sends faxes. If a form asks for a fax number for the reply, give your email or mailing address instead where you can.
Can I send ads or marketing faxes?
No. Sending unsolicited advertisements by fax is illegal under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act as amended by the Junk Fax Prevention Act, and it is against the terms of this service. Each number can receive only a few faxes a day from here, so it cannot be used for broadcast faxing.
