Questions
Why won't my PageMaker files open?
Adobe discontinued PageMaker in 2004. InDesign CS6 and earlier came with a PageMaker converter, but newer InDesign versions dropped it, and PageMaker itself no longer runs on current Windows or macOS.
Is the PDF free?
The preview of every page is free, no account needed. The clean PDF, with the page pictures, is $4.99 per file, and it's included free with the editable versions ($12) or the $19 pass.
What do I get if I pay?
Three editable files for $12: an IDML file for InDesign or Affinity, a PowerPoint file (.pptx) for PowerPoint, Canva, Google Slides or Keynote, and a Word file (.docx). Every page, text box, picture, shape and line comes across as something you can edit, and the clean PDF and page pictures are included. You see a preview of every page before you pay.
I have a lot of files. Is there a better deal?
Yes. The 30-day pass is $19 and covers every file you convert in those 30 days, PageMaker and Publisher alike. It pays for itself at two files.
What if it doesn't come out right?
Email tyler@leducsystems.com within 30 days and I'll refund you in full, no questions asked. If you can, attach the file so I can fix the converter for the next person.
Which PageMaker versions work?
PageMaker 6.0, 6.5 and 7.0 (.pmd, .p65, .pm6 and template files). Files from PageMaker 5 and earlier aren't supported yet. If yours doesn't convert, the preview tells you before you pay anything.
What about pictures?
PageMaker often linked pictures instead of storing them in the file. Pictures stored in the file come across; linked ones that aren't inside the file can't, so you'd place those again in your new app.
What about fonts?
Your text keeps the font names it used in PageMaker. Many old fonts aren't on today's computers, so your app substitutes a similar one and some text may reflow. Headlines in unusual fonts are the most likely to need a touch-up.
What happens to my file?
Your file is converted on my server, used only to make your download, and deleted automatically within 24 hours, or within 7 days once paid, so you can download it again. I never look at it or share it.
